Cold readings from the script will be provided at the auditions. Prepare a short ballad and bring sheet music (an accompanist will be provided).  Come prepared to move. \nSHORT SYNOPSIS:  This is a highly theatrical re-imagining of the origin story of Peter Pan.  All actors play multiple roles in this story-theatre style tale of an orphan and his friend\, a fabled “starcatcher” as they battle pirates\, mermaids and unscrupulous seafarers and bureaucrats.  Highly physical\, broad comedians are required to embody a variety of narrators\, characters\, props and scene pieces and bring the magic to life. \nCASTING THE FOLLOWING ROLES: \nNOTE: \nAll characters will double as other characters (even if not listed).  British accents are required and other accents couldn’t hurt.  I am open to casting either gender in all roles (but they will be playing the listed sex) and encourage all nationalities\, ethnicities\, ages and  body types to audition.  In short\, I’m casting an acting ensemble that will melt into whatever character or theatrical need we can imagine. \nBLACK STACHE  (M or F to play Male\, 20s-30s) A fearsome pirate in search of a hero worthy of his villainy; highly flamboyant and theatrical \nMOLLY (Female\, 13-early 20s) A starcatcher in training; a born leader; tough\, romantic\, and fearless \nBOY/PETER (Male\, 13-early 20s) A somewhat damaged orphan who finds the hero inside himself \nGREMPKIN/MACK/SANCHEZ/FIGHTING PRAWN (M or F to play Male\, 20s-50s) An evil schoolmaster\, a lousy sailor\, a pirate\, and the King of the Mollusks \nMRS. BUMBRAKE/TEACHER (F or M to play female\, 20s-60s) Molly’s still attractive nanny and an ancient mermaid \nSLANK/HAWKING CLAM (M or F to play Male\, 20s-40s) A vicious sea captain and the heir apparent to the Mollusk throne \nSMEE (M or F to play Male\, 20s-60s) First mate to Black Stache; a loyal\, hardworking\, if not so bright\, pirate \nPRENTISS (M or F to play Male\, teens to 20s) One of Peter’s fellow orphans; yearning to be a leader\, but a bit of a coward \nALF (M or F to play Male\, 40s-60s) An old sea dog\, smitten with Mrs. Bumbrake; tough and loyal\, but guided by his innate morality \nLORD ASTER (M or F to play Male\, 40s-60s) Molly’s father\, a starcatcher and the very model of a Victorian English gentleman \nCAPTAIN ROBERT FALCON SCOTT (M or F to play Male\, 20s-40s) The legendary explorer who eventually dies on his expedition to the South Pole; currently the Captain of the fastest frigate in the British navy. \nTED (M or F to play Male\, teens-early 20s) The third orphan of the triumvirate; called Tubby (but not necessarily heavy).  He has a love of everything edible. \nJOIN OUR FACEBOOK EVENT AND LET US KNOW YOU ARE COMING!
