Special performances on Thursday and Sunday nights may be added for private parties and special events. \nThis is a volunteer community theater production.  Non-Equity.  There is no pay. At this time\, all volunteers including actors must be fully vaccinated to participate in shows. \nAUDITION DATES:\nOpen Call \nDates: Monday\, July 11\, and Tuesday\, July 12\, 2022 \nTimes: 7pm – 9pm \nLocation: Long Beach Playhouse   \nCallbacks: \nDate and Time: Wednesday. July 13\, 2022\, 7:00 pm\, by invitation only. \nREHEARSALS:\nFirst Read-Through: Sat. July 16\, 2022 – Noon – 3pm \nRehearsals: Mondays – Thursdays\,7:00-10:00pm; Possible occasional Saturday mornings\, 9:00am – 1:00pm \n(See Beginning Rehearsal Schedule for specific dates and times.) \nLINK TO BEGINNING REHEARSAL SCHEDULE\nLocation: Long Beach Playhouse \nAUDITION REQUIREMENTS:\nBring headshot and resume. Sides for cold readings will be provided at the auditions.If you are called back\, you will be taught a short section of the closing song and asked to sing it.  This is not a musical\, but being able to hold your own in this final song is important. \nPlease bring your vaccination card as written proof of full vaccination to the auditions. Masks will be required at the auditions. \nSHORT SYNOPSIS:  \nFour beautiful\, badass women lose their heads in this irreverent comedy set during the French Revolution. This grand and dream-tweaked comedy is about violence and legacy\, art and activism\, feminism and terrorism\, compatriots and chosen sisters\, and how we actually go about changing the world. \nCASTING THE FOLLOWING ROLES:\nNOTE: All Ethnicities are encouraged to audition for any role except for the role of MARIANNE which will be cast with a black actor. \nNo accents are required for this production (with the possible exception of Marianne). \nOLYMPE DE GOUGES (F\, 30s – 60s) Badass activist playwright and feminist. Theatre nerd\, excitable\, self-centered\, passionate.  Widowed and never remarried to ensure her personal freedom.  \nMARIANNE ANGELLE (F\, 20s – 40s) A badass Black woman originally from the Caribbean.  A free woman and a spy\, working with her husband.  Tough\, classy\, intelligent and totally sane. \nCHARLOTTE CORDAY (F\, 18 – 40s) Badass country girl and assassin. Very serious\, hardened by righteousness\, never been kissed and just a tiny bit short of batshit crazy. Also plays FRATERNITE (male oppressor) in a mask. \nMARIE-ANTOINETTE (F\, 20s – 50s) Less badass\, but fascinating former queen of France. Bubbly\, graceful\, glamorous\, opinionated\, and often totally unaware.  Never had a real friend until now and never realized she needed one.  Also plays FRATERNITE (male oppressor) in a mask.
