SUMMARY:Jewel Box Children's Theater Summer Camp

Campers will create original skits and songs as well as learn some broadway show stoppers. So warm up your singing pipes\, grab your dancing shoes and lets put on a show! At the end of these weeks campers will have the opportunity to perform for their friends and family at the award winning Long Beach Playhouse!!!  \n\n\n\nLocation \n\n\n\nThe Long Beach Playhouse5021 E Anaheim StLong Beach\, CA 90804 \n\n\n\nDates and Times \n\n\n\nWeeks 1 and 2 (July 8 – 12 and July 15 – 19) are half day camps 12pm – 3pm for ages 6 and up. In these weeks campers will learn a group song\, learn a dance routine and play theater games. \n\n\n\nWeek 1: July 8 – 12Week 2: July 15 – 1912pm – 3pm \n\n\n\nWeeks 3 and 4 (July 22 – 26 and July 29 – August 2) are full day camps 9am – 4pm for ages 9 and up. When the writer learns that the brother has confessed to the murders and implicated him/her in the process\, s/he resigns to being executed but attempts to save the stories from destruction.  \nCASTING THE FOLLOWING ROLES:\nKATURIAN (M or F\, 30 to 40 – Any Race): A writer of gruesome short stories often involving children\, is surprised and confused as to why s/he was brought in by detectives for questioning.   S/he cares deeply about the brother Michal and about saving the stories from destruction. \nTUPOLSKI (M or F\, 50s to 60s – Any Race): The lead detective and the “good cop” in the interrogation. Cold and uncaring\, s/he self describes as ‘detached from the people s/he aims to save’.  S/he supervises Ariel. \nARIEL (M or F\, 30 to 40 – Any Race): A brutal and violent detective who has a vendetta against anyone who commits crimes against children because of abuse in his or her own childhood. \nMICHAL (M\, 30 to 40 – Any Race): Katurian’s older brother\, who is “slow to get things” and often referred to as a ‘retard’ following his years of abuse at the hands of his parents.
