Cold readings from the script – audition materials will be provided at the audition. \nSHORT SYNOPSIS:   \nThis fast-paced\, fluid\, somewhat physical adaptation of Jane Austen’s beloved novel is a true ensemble piece. When eligible bachelors move into the home nearby\, Mrs. Bennett is determined to find matches for her five daughters. While Elizabeth doesn’t have the same priorities as her mother\, she finds it difficult to avoid the subject after a string of unsuitable suitors. But when the independent Elizabeth meets the enigmatic Mr. Darcy\, they must determine if first impressions or their feelings will triumph. Is it possible in their strict society for Elizabeth and Darcy to look beyond his pride and her prejudice\, and to make the best match of all? \nCASTING THE FOLLOWING ROLES: \nNOTE: All roles are open to All Ethnicities.\nAges listed are perceived age\, Actors of any age that can play this range may audition. \nAll roles require a British accent. \nMR. BENNETT (M\, to play 50-65) \nPatriarch of the family. Understands the manners of the age\, but has a great sense of humor. Loves his daughters and his wife. \nMRS. BENNETT (F\, to play 50-65) \nMother of five girls. She wants the best for all of them\, despite their lack of dowry\, and worries the rules of inheritance will leave them stranded.  Frivolous\, excitable\, and narrow-minded; her social climbing and public manners are embarrassing to some of her daughters. \nJANE BENNETT (F\, to play 22) \nEldest of the Bennett sisters. Mature\, well-mannered\, and sees only the best in everyone she meets. \nELIZABETH BENNETT (F\, to play 20) \nSecond eldest. Well-read\, outspoken\, sees life with more skepticism than her older sister. Extremely quick and witty\, but with a tendency to judge on first impressions. \nMARY BENNETT/ CHARLOTTE LUCAS (F\, to play 19) \nMiddle sister. Always reading. Always. Also plays Charlotte Lucas\, 27\, Elizabeth’s good friend and confidante. \nKITTY BENNETT (F\, to play 17) \nCharming; wants to be seen as an individual\, but is always shadowed by her younger sister. \nLYDIA BENNETT/ GEORGIANA (F\, to play 16) \nSomewhat rebellious and opinionated. She wants to grow up much faster than expected. Also plays Georgiana\, 16\, Mr. Darcy’s younger sister\, gracious and well mannered. \nMR. BINGLEY/ COLONEL FITZWILLIAM/ SERVANT (M\, to play 25) \nWealthy young man. Responsible\, mature\, charming\, kind. He lacks some resolve and is easily influenced by his sister and Darcy. New neighbor to the Bennetts. Also plays Colonel Fitzwilliam\, 20-25\, Darcy’s cousin\, straightforward\, plain spoken well-bred military man. Also plays a Servant. \nMR. DARCY (M\, to play 28) \nWealthy\, clever house-guest of Bingley. Intelligent but socially aloof and opinionated\, particularly about class and family status. \nCAROLINE BINGLEY/ MRS. GARDINER (F\, to play 22) \nSpoiled\, scheming younger sister of Mr. Bingley. She can be cold and unapologetic\, often trying to prove her superiority over others. Also plays Mrs. Gardiner\, 50s\, affable aunt to Elizabeth. \nGEORGE WICKHAM/GUEST (M\, to play 28) \nSoldier. Feels betrayed by Darcy. Courts two of the Bennett sisters with superficial charm. Also plays a Guest. \nMR. COLLINS/ SIR WILLIAM LUCAS/ MR. GARDINER (M\, to play 25) \nDistant cousin of Mr. Bennett\, and presumed male heir to the Bennett estate. A pompous clergyman and lacking in common sense. Also plays Sir William Lucas\, 50\, father of Charlotte\, gracious\, self-satisfied. Also Mr. Gardner\, 50s\, Mrs. Bennett’s brother; genial\, open\, generous. \nLADY CATHERINE DeBOURGH/ HOUSEKEEPER/GUEST (F\, to play 50-65) \nA widow. Mr. Darcy’s imperious\, meddling Aunt who is sure no one is good enough for their family.
