Set 2 years after the novel ends\, Christmas 1815\, MISS BENNET continues the story\, only this time with bookish-middle sister Mary as its unlikely heroine. Mary is growing tired of her role as dutiful middle sister in the face of her siblings’ romantic escapades. When the family gathers at Pemberley for Christmas\, an unexpected guest sparks Mary’s for an intellectual match and perhaps\, romance. \nCASTING THE FOLLOWING ROLES:\nNotes: \nAll Ethnicities are encouraged to attend.  \n“The writers encourage diverse casting- Jane Austen belongs to everyone.”  \n      Lauren Gunderson and Margot Melcon \nBelow are character descriptions. The age range is based on look not the actor’s real age. \nMARY BENNET: (F\, look 20-30) Finally coming into her own\, she is no longer the plain\, boring girl she once was. She is intelligent\, curious and spirited\, but her family only sees her as a spinster. Ability to play piano a plus. (Role requires an upperclass British Accent.) \nARTHUR DE BOURGH (M\, look 25-30’s) A studious\, unsociable\, only child  who has never been around woman or large families. He is a loner who prefers books to people. He has recently inherited a large estate and has no idea what to do next.  (Role requires an upperclass British Accent.) \nELIZABETH DARCY (F\, look 25-30) Married to Mr. Darcy. Confident\, charming and witty. She makes a fun and surprising lady of the house. She is best friends with her sister Jane. (Role requires an upperclass British Accent.) \nFITZWILLIAM DARCY (M\, look 30’s) A loving\, generous\, smart husband to Elizabeth. He is quiet and vigilant and thus sees what others often miss. He knows what being lovelorn is like. (Role requires an upperclass British Accent.) \nJANE BINGLEY (F\, look 20-30) Married to Mr. Bingley. She is seven months pregnant with her first child and is sweet and optimistic as ever. The kindest heart in the house. (Role requires an upperclass British Accent.) \nCHARLES BINGLEY (M\, look 25-30) Gracious\, happy\, and ever focused on the love of his life\, Jane. A good friend always ready with a smile and support. (Role requires an upperclass British Accent.) \nLYDIA WICKHAM (F\, look late teens) Flirtatious\, youthful\, self-centered. Her marriage to Mr. Wickham is a sham\, but she will not admit this. She is the person you want at your party: energetic\, engaging\, unstoppable. A foil to Mary. (Role requires an upperclass British Accent.) \nANNE DE BOURGH (F\, look 20’s) Only daughter of the late Lady Catherine de Bourgh. Lived in her mother’s very large shadow\, never having to ask for anything or speak for herself her entire life. Judgemental and impatient\, just like her mother. (Role requires an upperclass British Accent.) \nLET US KNOW YOU’RE COMING BY JOINING OUR FACEBOOK EVENT!
