Special performances on Wednesday and Sunday nights may be added for private parties and special events.  \nThis is a volunteer community theater production.  Non-Equity.  There is no pay.  \nAUDITION DATES:\nOpen Call: (Auditioners only need to come to one night of Open Call Auditions.) \nDates: Tuesday\, Oct. 15 and Wednesday\, Oct. 16\, 2024    \nTimes: 7pm – 9pm \nLocation: Long Beach Playhouse   \nCallbacks: By Invitation Only. \nDate: Thursday\, October. 17 \nTimes: 7pm – 10pm \nREHEARSALS:\nFirst Read-Through: Saturday\, Oct. 19\, noon – 4pm \nFirst Rehearsal: Starts Monday\, Oct. 21. \nRegular Rehearsal: Mondays – Thursdays\, 7pm – 10pm\, Saturdays 1pm – 4pm.  \n\nNO REHEARSAL ON Halloween & Thanksgiving BUT will rehearse the Wednesday before those days on 10/30 and 11/27\n\n(Please see beginning rehearsal schedule BELOW for specific dates and times.) \nFlexible to work around some minor conflicts except for tech dates and performances. \nLocation: Long Beach Playhouse \nAUDITION REQUIREMENTS: \nBring headshot\, resume\, and calendar of conflicts.   \nAudition will consist of cold readings from the script. Sides will be provided at auditions.  \nYou may be asked to sing your favorite Christmas Carol. Be prepared to sing a cappella or bring your own track. \nBritish accents required for all roles.   \nNon-traditional casting welcome: open to all races\, genders\, and ages.   \nSHORT SYNOPSIS:  \nAn adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic Christmas novella\, A Christmas  Carol is the famous tale of a miserly old man named Ebenezer Scrooge. Over the course of the story\, he is visited by the ghosts of Christmas past\, present\, and future\, who give him a new perspective on his life. \nCASTING THE FOLLOWING ROLES:  \nNOTE: Looking to cast 12 actors\, with most everyone but Scrooge playing multiple parts. Non-traditional casting welcome: open to all races\, genders\, and ages.   \nEBENEZER SCROOGE (M\, to play 50+) A cold-hearted miser\, whose fear of the world has manifested in a hatred for Christmas.  \nBOB CRATCHIT (M\, 35-50) An optimistic\, mild-mannered man who loves his family. Also plays Dick Wilkins who was Ebenezer’s best friend when he was younger.  \nGHOST OF CHRISTMAS PAST (F\, to play 18-25) A strange\, otherworldly spirit who shows Scrooge his past. Singing is a bonus. Will also play a Salvation Army Bell Ringer\, a Caroler\, Martha Cratchit and Ghost of Christmas YTC puppeteer. Singing is a bonus. \nGHOST OF CHRISTMAS PRESENT (M\, all ages 20+ considered) An exuberant spirit who is the embodiment of Christmas Day. Singing is a bonus. Will also play Salvation Army Bell Ringer\, a Caroler\, Mr. Fezziwig and Ghost of Christmas YTC puppeteer. \nJACOB MARLEY (M\, to play 50 +) The ghost of Ebenezer Scrooge’s dead business partner. Will also play a Narrator\, Old Joe\, and the Poulterer.   \nFRED HOLLOWELL (M\, 18-30) Scrooge’s nephew and a joyful young  man filled with Christmas cheer. Will also play Young Ebenezer\, Thomas and Broker  2. \nBELLE (F\, 18-30) A young woman with fierce convictions and the lost love of Ebenezer. Will also play Caroline\, Catherine\, and Broker 1.  \nMRS. CRATCHIT (F\, 35-50) A strong headed matriarch of her family. She  is kind-hearted but not afraid to speak her truth. Will also play Mrs. Fezziwig\, a Narrator\, and Mrs. Oliver. \nELIZABETH HOLLOWELL (F\, 18-30) Fred’s outgoing and playful wife.  Singing voice is a bonus. Will also play the Solicitor\, Narrator\, a Caroler\, a party goer and Mrs. Dilber.  \nPETER CRATCHIT (M\, 13-17) Eldest son of the Cratchits. Singing required. Will also play Ignorance\, and Boy.  \nBELINDA CRATCHIT (F\, 7-13) Youngest daughter of the Cratchits. Will  also play a Street child\, Fan\, Belle’s daughter\, and Want.  \nTINY TIM (M\, 7-10) A kind-hearted\, sickly boy who loves Christmas.  Singing is a bonus.
