Set during the turmoil of the Salem witch trials\, the story focuses on a young farmer\, his wife\, and a young servant woman who causes the wife’s arrest for witchcraft. The farmer brings her to court to admit the lie\, but instead finds himself accused of witchcraft\, along with a host of others\, as fear and opportunism consume the town.
