Through a score of vibrant songs\, their experiences ring startlingly true to life. Adam Gwon’s musical is for anyone who’s ever struggled to appreciate simple things in a complex place. \nCOMPANY STATEMENT: \nTake the Stage Long Beach is an educational theatre and production company with more than 10 years of teaching and production experience in the greater Long Beach area. Adapted from Twain’s own words for a commentary on slavery\, religion\, and politics\, mixing the satire with comic yarns about life on the Mississippi. \nCOMPANY STATEMENT: \nStarring Jaxson Brashier & directed by Gregory Cohen in the fashion of Twain himself\, “The human race has one really effective weapon\, and that is laughter.” \nIn order to protect the future we must preserve our past for the generations to follow\, and who better to preserve than the father of American Literature & Satire\, Mark Twain.
