As secrets unravel in Beverly Hills and Bel Air\, the show explores love\, betrayal\, and self-discovery\, celebrating friendship and the fabulousness of LA life—A VERY Gay Farce: Muscles\, Mayhem\, and Cocktails! \nCompany Statement:\nVanderHart Productions is an independent production company dedicated to the creation of LGBTQ+ content for stage and screen.  We have produced seven successful stage productions in Southern California including “Honey I’m Home” and “With Friends Like These…” and several feature films including the cult favorite “Homewrecker” and the romantic comedy “Open: breaking the rules”.  Our goal is to create entertaining\, inclusive\, and positive LGBTQ+ entertainment. \nThe LBP Studio Collaborative Season offers outside\, local theatre companies and performing arts organizations the opportunity to produce their own shows in our Studio Theater.

The story follows the lives of three Odessa women\, each grappling with a mysterious generational curse that strikes every December causing them to lose something or someone that they love. As the Odessa women struggle with love and loss\, they must figure out a way to break the curse to experience genuine happiness. The show explores themes of resilience\, faith\, trauma and family. \nCompany Statement:\nBlack Girlz Productions was founded by Shaneisha Dodson. He wants her to sell the family’s antique piano.  But it is more than just a musical instrument; it’s a testament to the family’s rise from slavery\, carved with the images of their ancestors. The women are part of their town’s southern oligarchy.  \nCASTING THE FOLLOWING ROLES:\nNOTE: All ethnicities and types are encouraged to audition. \nAll characters have a basic\, Southern stage accent. \nTRUVY JONES (F\, 35-55). Owner of the beauty shop. She is feisty\, wisecracking\, and outspoken. Heart of gold\, but has been dealt some hard knocks. She offers hairspray with a lot of teasing. (Ability to style hair a plus.) \nANNELLE DUPUY-DESOTO (F\, 18-25). Beauty shop assistant. She is unsure and timid at the beginning of the play. Throughout the story she goes from awkward and timid to wild to very religious. Awkward. (Ability to do hair a plus.) \nCLAIREE BELCHER (F\, 60-70). Widow of former mayor. Grande dame. Elegant\, sophisticated\, intelligent and very witty with a definite sweet tooth. \nSHELBY EATENTON-LATCHERIE (F\, 19-28). M’Lynn’s daughter. She is strong willed\, pretty and passionate. She loves her mother and the other women but has a stubborn streak. \nM’LYNN EATENTON (F\, 40-60). Shelby’s mother. Socially prominent career woman. Practical\, intelligent\, and loving. She is passionate and stubborn about her daughter.  \nOUISER BOUDREAX (F\, 55-70). Wealthy curmudgeon. Acerbic but loveable. Southern to the core. When Germany invades\, the SS compel him to sell paintings to Goering\, and he makes millions more. At the end of the war\, he is accused of selling national treasure to the enemy and is to be executed. He claims the paintings are fakes and to prove it he will paint another.
