SUMMARY:HADESTOWN: Teen Edition
DESCRIPTION:HADESTOWN: Teen Edition\nProduced by The Jewel Box Children’s Theater Company in collaboration with the Long Beach Playhouse.\nPlaying in the Long Beach Playhouse’s Studio Theater\nApril 26 – May 24\, 2025\nBook\, Music\, & Lyrics by Anaïs Mitchell\nDirected by Anne Kate Mohler\nMusical Direction by Andy Zacharias\nChoreography by Lea Mano\nWinner of the 2019 Tony Award for Best Musical\, HADESTOWN: Teen Edition is an intriguing and beautiful folk musical that explores the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice with a young cast of actors 13-19.  Following two intertwining love stories – that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice\, and that of immortal King Hades and Lady Persephone\, this beautiful and beguiling sung-through show pits industry against nature\, doubt against faith\, and fear against love with music inspired by classic American folk music and vintage New Orleans jazz. Thought-provoking\, powerful and prophetic\, HADESTOWN is cause for celebration in this transporting musical hit!
