(Auditioners only need to come to one night of open call auditions.  We are only seeing in-person auditioners during audition times – no video submissions.)

Fridays & Saturdays 8pm, Sundays at 2pm. Special performances on Thursday and Sunday nights may be added for private parties and special events.

This is a volunteer community theater production.  Non-Equity.  There is no pay.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:

Bring headshot and resume. 

Sides for cold readings will be provided at the auditions.

SHORT SYNOPSIS:  

In the English countryside, a number of young women have died under curious conditions, at the same time a mysterious stranger has moved into the abandoned Carfax Abbey nearby. Meanwhile, Dr Cedric Seward, who runs the local mental institution, with his servant Jameson, receives a visit from his old friend, Professor Van Helsing, who has secretly been chasing the famous vampire, Count Dracula and Van Helsing’s journey has brought him to Seward’s sanitarium, but will he appear?

CASTING THE FOLLOWING ROLES:

NOTE: Actively seeking all ethnicities for all roles.

DR. CEDRIC SEWARD (M; age range 45 – 85) A man of science and not of superstition. Runs the sanitarium, and is a crack shot with a pistol.  (Upper class British accent required.)

JAMESON (M or F; age range 21 – 65) Jameson is the muscle for Seward’s  sanitarium.  (Lower class or Cockney British accent required.)

PROFESSOR VAN HELSING  (M; age range 40 – 70) A learned doctor of letters, wise and direct, spent his life chasing Dracula.  (Dutch accent required.)

DR. HELGA VAN ZANDT (F; age range 25 – 65) A Freudian analyst, she is smart, sexy, alluring, and the secret lover of Lord Godalming.  (German accent required. Role will require intimate contact – kissing and passionate embracing – with Lord Godalming and Dracula.)

LORD GODALMING (M; age range 45 – 70) Proper Englishman of gentry; blustering, devoted to Mother England.  (Upper British accent required. Role will require intimate contact – kissing and passionate embracing – with Dr. Helga Van Zandt.)

MR. RENFIELD (M or F; age range 21 – 40) Dedicated to Count Dracula, feeds on living spiders, flies, and mice because the key is the life’s blood. A patient at Seward’s sanitarium.  (A very physical role. No accent required.)

WILHELMINA MURRAY (F; age range 18 – 35) A young woman. Painfully prim and proper, with hidden passion underneath. Love interest of Jonathan Harker.  (An upper-class British accent required. Role will require intimate contact – kissing and passionate embracing – with Jonathan Harker and Dracula.)

JONATHAN HARKER (M; age range 18 – 35) young reporter, who is adventurous and keen for a story. Love interest of Wilhelmina Murray.  (An upper-class British accent is required. Role will require intimate contact – kissing and passionate embracing – with Wilhelmina Murray.)

COUNT DRACULA (M; age range 25 – 65) A noble count of Transylvania; passionate and powerful.  (A Romania/Transylvanian Accent required. Role will require intimate contact – kissing and passionate embracing – with Dr. Helga Van Zandt and Wilhelmina Murray.)
