BIG NEWS – WE’RE REOPENING!

The Long Beach Playhouse is incredibly thrilled to announce our reopening to live theater this Fall! After a long, nearly 18 month hiatus, we will be returning with some shows we had to stop mid-production, an exciting musical, and some old favorites.

We kick off our shortened 2021 Mainstage season with NOISES OFF, a show we had to close during the middle of its run back in 2020.  Returning with nearly all of its original cast, we are excited to finished what we started with this hilarious, over-the-top comedy!

Next, we will feature the long awaited opener of our Studio Season, ANGELS IN AMERICA: PART ONE – MILLENNIUM APPROACHES, the seminal play about the politics, power plays, spiritually, strange connections, and love that took place during the 1980s AIDS crisis, with part two planned for next year.

Back on the Mainstage comes the joyful musical comedy, SISTER ACT, based on the hilarious Whoopi Goldberg movie and with with music by Alan Menken (Little Shop of Horrors, Beauty and the Beast). Getting back in the habit of doing musicals will be a joy with this funny, raucous ode to the power of sisterhood.

Then, in December, we return to a holiday favorite, A CHRISTMAS CAROL, now its tenth incarnation at the Playhouse. What a great way to round out the year with a tradition for the whole family.

Individual tickets to all of the shows will be available beginning Aug. 1st.

During July, season ticket holders and patrons who had tickets in 2020 who chose the option to exchange to a later date will get first pick at reserving their seats for our new shows. Contact our Box Office at (562) 494-1014, option 1 for assistance.

Welcome back, and we hope to see you at the Playhouse very soon!

Covid Protocols at the Playhouse.

At the present time, we will be requiring all patrons to wear masks in all spaces while inside our theaters.
