MEN ON BOATS is the true(ish) history of the 1869 expedition of the Grand Canyon when ten explorers, in four boats, lead by a one-armed captain, set out to chart the course of the Colorado River. In an off the canyon-walls funny comedy, the stalwartness, the selfishness, the cockiness, and the cluelessness of this crew of insane yet loyal adventurers drips with satire as some of the roles are gender swapped. This is a rollicking adventure that turns the American myth of man-ifest destiny on end and challenges the notion of who gets to make history with respect to its bold if fallible pioneers.
