PRIDE AND PREJUDICE

About the Play

Director: Aurora Culver
Run: Fridays & Saturdays at 8pm, Sundays at 2pm

Theater is at its best when it offers a good story well told . . . Jory blends smart dialogue with trenchant social observation, giving Austen's characters plenty of room to navigate the shoals of class distinction, the subjugate roles of women in a patriarchal society and the perils of overweening pride.
Synopsis

All of the wit and romance of Jane Austen’s classic novel come to life in this fast-paced, humorous, and engaging new adaptation. Finding a husband is hardly Elizabeth Bennet’s most urgent priority. But with an overzealous match-making mother it’s difficult to escape the subject. When the independent-minded Elizabeth meets the handsome but enigmatic Mr. Darcy, she is determined not to let her feelings triumph over her own good sense — but the truth turns out to be slipperier than it seems. In a society where subtle snubs and deceit proliferate, is it possible for Elizabeth and Darcy to look beyond his pride and her prejudice, and to actually find real love?
