HEATHERS: The Musical is the darkly delicious satire based on the iconic teen-comedy movie of the 80s. Veronica Sawyer, a brainy teenage misfit, hustles her way into the most powerful and ruthless clique at Westerberg High: the Heathers. Once there, Veronica falls in love with the dangerously sexy new kid, J.D. But before she can get comfortable atop the food chain, she runs afoul of Heather Chandler, the almighty queen of the school. Veronica decides to bite the bullet and kiss Heather’s aerobicized ass…but J.D. has other plans, as a series of murders of Westerberg’s most popular students reveals the real-cut throat nature of teenage popularity.

By Ira Levin
Directed by Gregory Cohen
From Ira Levin, author of Rosemary’s Baby and Deathtrap, comes this chilling mystery thriller that explores the thin line between reality and fantasy. Students Susan and Larry find themselves enticed to a mysterious mansion by its dissolute caretakers. Struck by Susan’s strong resemblance to Veronica, the long-dead daughter of the family they work for, the older couple induce her to impersonate the dead woman to give solace to their employer, Veronica’s addled sister, who believes she’s still alive. Dressed in her clothes, Susan finds herself locked in Veronica’s room and in her role. Or is she Veronica, in 1935, pretending to be an imaginary Susan?

By Kenneth Lonergan
Directed by Carl DaSilva
In Kenneth Lonergan’s brilliant comedic drama, LOBBY HERO, we met Jeff, the luckless young security guard in the lobby of a New York apartment building. Berated by his tightly wound supervisor William, clueless in the presence of local hero cop Bill, and hopeless in the presence of Bill’s attractive rookie partner, Dawn, Jeff can’t help but say the wrong thing at the wrong time. But when everyone is drawn into a local murder investigation, truth becomes elusive and justice proves costly in this irrepressible show that demonstrates the unintended consequences of good intentions.

By Lauren Gunderson
Directed by Kelsey Weinstein
The Industrial Revolution dawns as young Ada Byron Lovelace (daughter of the flamboyant and notorious romantic poet, Lord Byron) sees the boundless creative potential in the “analytic engines” of the genius of the age, Charles Babbage. A precocious intellect herself, Ada and Charles form a romance of the mind as she envisions a whole new world where art and information converge. Their ideas lead to the first mechanical computer in Lauren Gunderson’s music-laced story of love, friendship, and the edgiest dreams of the future as Jane Austen meets Steve Jobs in this poignant pre-tech romance heralding the computer age.

Winner of the 2019 Tony Award for Best Musical, HADESTOWN: Teen Edition is an intriguing and beautiful folk musical that explores the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice with a young cast of actors 13-19.Following two intertwining love stories – that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of immortal King Hades and Lady Persephone, this beautiful and beguiling sung-through show pits industry against nature, doubt against faith, and fear against love with music inspired by classic American folk music and vintage New Orleans jazz. Thought-provoking, powerful and prophetic, HADESTOWN is cause for celebration in this transporting musical hit! Produced by The Jewel Box Children’s Theater Company in collaboration with the Long Beach Playhouse.
