Join J. Pierrepont Finch as he meteorically rises from lowly window washer to high-powered executive in this rousing musical satire – featuring such familiar hits as “I Believe in You” and “Brotherhood of Man.” When Finch follows the teaching of his business success handbook, he climbs the corporate ladder better – and faster – than anyone could ever imagine. Biting comedy and bright insights are highlighted with delightfully memorable songs and dances in this classic Broadway musical. As Finch battles such corporate traps as office parties, backstabbing co-workers, and caffeine addiction, could it be that the only real obstacle might be – true love?

Synopsis
When the family patriarch dies, a poor African-American family living on Chicago’s South Side, must decide what to do with the soon-to-arrive insurance settlement. Should it be used to establish a liquor store, as son Walter Lee plans to do, hopefully moving the family out of poverty? Or should his mother’s religious objections to alcohol be considered? Family tensions rise as the future of the Younger family is weighed against the difficulties of the harsh and changing world in which they live. Questions of race and politics, of assimilation and historical awareness are seamlessly interwoven in this touching and wrenching family drama.

Synopsis
Professor of phonetics Henry Higgins makes a bet that he can train a bedraggled Cockney flower girl, Eliza Doolittle, to pass for a duchess at an ambassador’s garden party by teaching her to assume a veneer of gentility, the most important element of which, he believes, is impeccable speech. The play is a sharp lampoon of the rigid British class system of the day and a commentary on women’s independence.

Synopsis
Possibly Agatha Christie’s greatest play, The Mousetrap is a spine-tingling who-dunnit with all the classic earmarks you’ve come to expect from the “Queen of Mystery” – a group of strangers stranded in a boarding house, a series of murders, a mysterious (and very perceptive) policeman. Who might be the killer? The newlyweds? The spinster with the secrets untold? The odd architect? The military man? Or the odd stranger claiming to have survived his automobile accident? Everyone is a suspect and everyone is a potential victim. See if you can discover the truth before it’s too late to save anyone!

Synopsis
Returning for its fourth incarnation at Long Beach Playhouse, this quick-paced, highly theatrical re-telling of Charles Dickens’ classic tale will delight the entire family. In 19th century England, the ghosts of Christmases past, present and future show Ebenezer Scrooge the poverty of his material wealth and the blessings that come with generosity. Can they convince him to change before it’s too late? Come spend time with the characters you’ve come to love – Bob Cratchit, Tiny Tim, and of course the irascible miser himself. This production will be the Christmas party needed to set you and your loved ones on the path to holiday cheer.

Synopsis
In this farcical comedy of manners, Noel Coward displays his talent for word-play as a quiet weekend getaway turns into a battlefield of intellectual warfare. Novelist David Bliss and his actress wife, Judith, escape to the country hoping for a quiet escape from their hectic lives, only to find their grown children dashing their hopes with their arrival, along with each of the family members’ guests. The family’s last name is the only bliss this out-of-control clan can hope to experience in this hysterically witty British whirlwind. Like Coward’s Blithe Spirit and Private Lives, Hay Fever will keep you breathless from laughter.

Synopsis
In this comedic drama from Pulitzer Prize winning playwright, Lanford Wilson, we meet the residents of a run-down hotel facing eviction. The hotel is about to be condemned and these societal outcasts face an even more uncertain future than the one they currently awaken to on a daily basis. As we become part of the passing events of their lives and their everyday encounters, we begin to recognize that each of these individuals are searching for that missing part of their being, reflected by the incomplete and burnt-out neon sign that gives this insightful slice-of-life masterpiece its title.
