This joyful Tony award-winning musical tells the story of a vibrant community in New York’s Washington Heights neighborhood – a place where the coffee from the bodega is light and sweet, the windows are always open and the breeze carries the rhythm of three generations of music.Usnavi, owner of the corner bodega, dreams of going out with local salon worker, Vanessa, as she dreams of leaving the Heights for her own apartment in the West Village. When someone wins $96,000 in the lottery, everyone is faced with the possibility of their dreams, as the pull of the past and years of tradition color the change that is overtaking their lives and their community.
