  • Thursday,  May 28, 2026 – 7pm – 10pm: Callbacks – By invitation only.

(Auditioners only need to come to one night of open call auditions.  We are only seeing in-person auditioners during audition times – no video submissions. Auditioners will be seen on a first come, first serve basis determined by when they signed-in at the Open Call.)

RUN: July 18 – August 15, 2026

Fridays & Saturdays 8pm, Sundays at 2pm. Special performances on Thursday and Sunday nights may be added for private parties and special events.

This is a volunteer community theater production.  Non-Equity.  There is no pay.

Dates: Tuesday, May 26 & Wednesday, May 27, 2026 Time: 7pm – 9pm

Callbacks: By Invitation Only.

Date: Thursday, May 28, 2026 Times: 7pm – 10pm

REHEARSALS:

First Read-Through: Sat., May 30, Noon – 4:00 p.m.

Regular Rehearsal: Staring June 1, Mondays – Thursdays, 7pm – 10pm; Saturdays, 9am – Noon.

(Please check beginning rehearsal schedule BELOW for specific dates and times.)

NOTE: Open to  casting  actors with some, limited minor conflicts, but we will not be casting people with conflicts on tech dates and performances. A daily, regular rehearsal schedule will be set after callbacks.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:

Bring headshot and resume.

Be ready to do a memorized monologue with possible adjustments by the director. 

Sides for cold readings will be provided at the callbacks.

No dialect is required.

SHORT SYNOPSIS:

The play takes place in the Helmer home in Norway. Standard American stage dialect will be used. The time is 15 years after Nora left Torvald. Nora Helmer slammed the door on her stifling domestic life, leaving behind her husband and children for a life unknown. Now she is knocking on that same door, having returned with an urgent request for her former husband.

CASTING THE FOLLOWING ROLES:

NOTE: ALL ETHNICITIES AND TYPES ARE ENCOURAGED TO AUDITION.

NORA (F, look 40-45 years old): A much wiser woman than her former self. She is a writer and is living comfortably.

TORVALD (M, look 50-55 years old): Still a lawyer. He has let the community believe that Nora died rather than left him. So while Nora has been living her truth, he has been living a lie.

ANNE MARIE: (F, look 60-75): Nanny to Nora and then her children, She knows everything that has happened, or not happened, in this family.

EMMY: (F, look 18-25 years old): Nora and Torvald’s daughter, has strong ideas that often contradict her mother’s experience. About to marry, and is doing it “right”. She has no affection for Nora.
